Страстная эмоциональность, остродраматическое восприятие жизни, социальный протест, присущие искусству Ван Гога, выражались им в первой половине 1880-х годов в произведениях, выдержанных в сумрачной гамме, проникнутых сочувствием к простым людям; с 1888 создавал трагические образы в болезненно-напряженной, предельно экспрессивной манере, построенной на контрастах цвета, порывистого ритма, на свободной динамике пастозного мазка («Ночное кафе», 1888; «Пейзаж в Овере после дождя», 1890).&lt;/p&gt;             &lt;index&gt;           &lt;/index&gt;&lt;h2&gt;Биография                      Винсента Ван&amp;nbsp;Гога           &lt;/h2&gt;           &lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Голландский период (1881-1886)&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Художник, не получивший в молодости профессионального образования, переменил ряд профессий, не имевших отношения к искусству. Сын пастора, он в 1869-1876 служил комиссионером фирмы по торговле произведениями искусства и путешествовал по Европе, в 1876 был учителем в Англии. С мая 1877 по октябрь 1880 обучался в миссионерской школе в Лакене (около Брюсселя) и занимался проповеднической деятельностью среди горняков Боринажа (Бельгия), где, осознав свое художественное призвание, начал систематически рисовать. Отсюда выезжал в Брюссель, жил в Эттене, Гааге (1882-83), где пользовался советами А. Мауве, Нюэнене (1884-85), Антверпене (1885-86), где посещал классы Академии художеств и частную школу рисунка, изучал живопись старых мастеров.Увлекаясь поначалу рисунком, Ван Гог лишь в 1881 обратился к живописи маслом. Сюжеты полотен этого времени связаны с суровой природой и бытом земледельцев Брабанта («Едоки картофеля», 1885, Музей Ван Гога, Амстердам), трудом ткачей Нюэнена («Ткач», 1884, Музей Бойманса ван Бейнингена, Роттердам). Образны в своем повествовании натюрморты с изображением домашней утвари и привычных предметов («Натюрморт с трубкой и шляпой», 1885, Музей Креллер-Мюллер, Оттерло). Глубокого философского содержания полно полотно «Натюрморт с книгой и Библией» (1885, Музей Ван Гога), повествующее о пасторской деятельности умершего отца. Немногочисленные пейзажи («Аллея тополей в Нюэнене», 1885, Музей Бойманса ван Бейнингена) передают виды Голландии с тополями и ветлами у дорог, морского побережья. Обращение к национальной традиции сочетается с интересом к передаче силы и гармонии цвета, разработке его контрастных сочетаний, несмотря на общую темную гамму полотен этого периода.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Парижский период (март 1886 — февраль 1888)&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Для этого периода характерно резкое изменение манеры художника. Интерес к проблемам колорита, выразительной экспрессии мазка усиливается у Ван Гога под влиянием знакомства с живописью импрессионистов, теорией дополнительных цветов пуантилистов, пастозной бравурной манерой А. Монтичелли. Полотна «Бульвар Клиши» и «Сады Монмартра» (оба — 1887, Музей Ван Гога), написанные легкими раздельными импрессионистическими мазками, насыщенными переливчатыми сочетаниями красок, передают яркие краски парижской весны. Энергичные мелкие пуантилистские мазки в натюрморте «Фритилярии в медной вазе» (1887, Музей Ван Гога) образуют подвижное цветовое марево. В этот период художника начинает увлекать яркая красочность и непосредственность изображения природы и человека в японской гравюре. Увлечение ею проявляется в живописной манере портрета парижского торговца гравюрами «Папаша Танги» (1887, Музей Родена, Париж) и пейзажа «Поле пшеницы с жаворонком» (1887, Музей Ван Гога).В это время в портретном творчестве Ван Гога преобладают автопортреты (около 23-х). Они отражают его изменчивую внутреннюю жизнь, череду самопознания. В «Автопортрете в серой фетровой шляпе» (1887, Музей Ван Гога), исполненном в темной гамме, характерной для голландского периода, «Автопортрете в галстуке и сюртуке» (1887, Музей Креллер-Мюллер, Оттерло) и «Автопортрете в голубой куртке с палитрой и мольбертом» (1887, Музей Ван Гога) художник изображает себя то элегантным парижанином, то пастором, то художником. Выразительная мимика лица, тонкая нюансировка аксессуаров в сочетании с вариациями немногих ярких контрастных цветов создают образ человека открытой и легко ранимой души.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;Поздний период&lt;/b&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Период работы на юге Франции был самым плодотворным. Слова художника «жизнь искать в цвете» стали лейтмотивом его творчества. Полный радостного цветения предстает природа Прованса в написанных в светлой гамме методом «алла прима» полотнах «Цветущая слива» (1887, Музей Ван Гога) и «Ветка цветущего миндаля в стакане» (1888, там же). В серии марин, исполненных в Сент Мари-сюр-Мер, около Арля («Море в Сент Мари», 1888, Музей изобразительных искусств им. А. С. Пушкина, Москва), видах Роны («Мост Ланглуа», 1888, Музей Вальраф Рихартц-Людвиг, Кельн) пространство передано по-импрессионистически фрагментарно. Трактованный с высоты птичьего полета, как в японских гравюрах, вид равнинного Прованса и зеленых холмов Монтмажура в пейзаже «Долина Ла Кро» (1888, Музей Ван Гога) написан энергичными пастозными движениями кисти, свидетельствующими уже об отходе от импрессионистической техники и обретении собственной живописной манеры. Ван Гог ищет эмоционально сильные сочетания цветов — желтого (в серии натюрмортов «Подсолнухи») и красного («Красные виноградники в Арле», 1888, Музей изобразительных искусств им. А. С. Пушкина, Москва), наделяя их особой пластической выразительностью цвета. Загадочны и полны тревожного предчувствия красно-желтая и сине-желтая гаммы полотен с видами ночного Арля («Ночное кафе», 1888, Художественная галерея Йельского университета, Нью Хейвен; «Терраса кафе ночью», 1888, Музей Креллер-Мюллер, Оттерло).Утверждение собственной живописной манеры и одновременно интерес к технике клуазонизма П. Гогена присущи полотну «Арльские дамы» (1888, Эрмитаж). Очерченные темным контуром цветовые зоны создаются, однако, не гладкой живописью, как у Гогена, а выпуклыми сочными мазками, напоминающими кубики мозаики. О произошедшем в Арле трагическом разрыве между художниками повествует полотно «Кресло Гогена» (1888, Музей Ван Гога) и «Стул Ван Гога» (1888, Галерея Тейт, Лондон). В концентрированной форме они выражают умение художника синтезировать натуру.В период между участившимися душевными кризисами, которые привели Ван Гога в больницу для душевнобольных, художник находит спасение в живописи. В Сен Реми, неподалеку от Арля, им были созданы самые выдающиеся произведения. В минуты душевной тревоги были написаны серии пейзажей с оливами («Оливовая роща», 1889, Музей Креллер-Мюллер, Оттерло) и кипарисами («Дорога с кипарисами и заездой», 1890, там же) с искривленными стволами деревьев. Вихрящиеся очертания земли в картине «Овраг Пейруле» (1889, там же) словно готовы разрушить структуру полотна. Наряду с этими работами — полные просветленного и спокойного мироощущения холсты «Куст» (1889, Эрмитаж) и «Доктор Рэй» (1889, Музей изобразительных искусств им. А. С. Пушкина, Москва). Одно из самых трагически звучащих полотен «Прогулка заключенных» (1890, Музей изобразительных искусств им. А. С. Пушкина, Москва) по гравюре Доре передает чувство безысходности, ощущаемое художником.Работы, написанные после переезда в Овер-сюр-Уаз (провинция Иль-де-Франс) в окрестностях Парижа, свидетельствуют о том, сколь эмоционально глубоко передавал Ван Гог состояния природы. Сумрачные цветовые сочетания, деформированные деревья и архитектурные объемы в полотнах «Часовня в Овере» (1890, Лувр), «Вороны в пшеничном поле» (1890, Музей Ван Гога), «Хижины» (1890, Эрмитаж) рождают гнетущее настроение. Напротив, в картине «Пейзаж в Овере после дождя» (1890, Музей изобразительных искусств им. А. С. Пушкина, Москва) свежо и лирично переданы мягкий солнечный свет и прозрачный воздух Иль-де-Франса, ощущение простора вспаханного поля. Совершенно не несет в себе предощущения трагедии и портрет «Доктор Гаше» (1890, Лувр). Гармонии и доброты полон образ человека, смотрящего на мир с такой же искренностью, как и художник.В момент душевного кризиса художник смертельно ранил себя из револьвера и был похоронен в Овере. Среди мастеров постимпрессионизма Ван Гогу принадлежит особое место.
